Discover your network in minutes using intuitive wizards to scan for routers, switches, servers, printers and other networked devices. All network information is stored in a relational database to enable easy device management and reporting.

• Dynamic Groups let you group devices by specified characteristics, for example all devices that are currently down would let you see at a glance where trouble lies.
• Discover and Map MAC addresses to IP addresses; shows connectivity between a particular switch's ports and devices; allows assets to be located.

Reveal trends through robust, exportable reporting

WhatsUp Professional 2006 provides real-time and historical reporting options for easy access and customization. The large library of reports includes health reports, state change timelines, and detailed availability and performance reports for the entire network, device groups or specific devices. Flexible reporting can export report data to text files or to Microsoft Excel formats so you generate reports in your favorite reporting tool.

Monitor Microsoft® Exchange & Microsoft® SQL Server

Helps you keep business critical applications like Microsoft® SQL Server and Microsoft® Exchange Server up and running. If Microsoft® Exchange or Microsoft® SQL Server service stops unexpectedly, WhatsUp Professional Premium 2006 can be configured to fix the problem by restarting the crashed service automatically. WhatsUp will also notify you of the event, allowing you to keep track of performance.

Allows monitoring of web content as well as secure web content through SSL connections

Enhancements to recurring reports

Scheduled reports can be emailed on a monthly cycle and also based on number of minutes. Ability to ‘inline’ html reports in the sent email (rather than using attachments).

Web Alarms

Allows an operator to be notified by placing a visual and audible alarm on the web console.

Database Tools

Manage WhatsUp Professional’s database with easy to use integrated tools.  These tools allow the user to monitor the size and fragmentation of their database and database tables, and then to purge the data or fix the fragmentation if necessary

Maps MAC addresses to IP addresses; Shows connectivity between a particular switch’s ports and devices.  Allows location of assets.
